LKFF vs. 404
By Val1um on Thursday 15th April 2010

Interview with 404's xCal

xCal hungover at the airport, returning home from Bulgaria
Val1um: Hi xCal! How do you feel about the game vs LKFF? Recently, a few days ago, you guys played against rm -rf / (red). Any reflectations to share from that matchup?
xCal: Well, about the game versus rm -rf / (red), I was kind of disappointed on how we started the game at ctf7. They were pressuring us in like ten minutes non-stop and we barely even attacked. Their captures were just way to easy. In normal cases they shouldn't even come near mid. But all I can say is that we were owned.
In ctf2, we should have won the map immediately if I just did a "normal" rocket jump. If you saw the game you should understand what I mean.
It was just hilarious. Perhaps I should try stermy lessons? Or well, since he's extremely expensive, I should see if there's any sponsors. No, just kidding.
I'm happy that we won the map after all, because that's the most important even if you play like shit.

In the third map (ctf8), I don't have anything specific to say for that mather. We didn't do anything right and that's just it.
And for the LKFF game, I hope we're going to have more control than against rm -rf / (red). I'm not making an excuse, but we haven't been playing with each other before and you could actually see that from the last match. This time we're going to change lineup since Spart1e and snajp, or "schneip" as FOR3CAS7 pronounced it, couldn't make it today. Bab and kruse will play instead. If everything goes smooth, we should have an chance of winning it.

Val1um: You say you guys haven't played together until the third season of BiBS, how has this affected the team overall? Is it all fine and on the rails so to say, or has it occurred serious discussions?
xCal: I trust these guys since I've played some Q3 CTF with them in the old days, except bab. I think it will just take perhaps two-three games for us to "know each other" again, so to speak. As I said, I trust these guys and we will show them how good we really are. You'll see.

Val1um: Ok. In the future, would you like to see 404 as an on-going competitive clan? Will we see 404 attending to LAN events and other leagues?
xCal: It's early to say anything about that if we will attend to any other leagues. Right now, I can't answer that question. But we will not attend to any LAN events or such things with 404 since Spart1e is with fnatic and the others are just playing some CTF for fun.

Val1um> Hehe, I see. Random question! What is your favourite game?
xCal: Quake 3, no doubt.

Val1um: An easy question and a great answer for it. To round off this interview, what do you think the scores will be?
xCal: I'm guessing that we will win this game with two to zero.
Djurgården will win the SM (the Swedish Championship) gold in the Swedish Hockey League!

Val1um: Ok! It will be interesting to see the match against LKFF. Thanks for the interview and have a good time.
xCal: Cheers.

Interview with LKFF's Reesend

Bjqrn0: What are your expectations for your upcoming game against 404?
Reeseend: With their new members snajp and poomer who are former LKFF I think 404 has a pretty decent lineup, especially if Spart1e plays. With their best lineup, I'm afraid they will own us.
We have had some problems with active members lately and those problems aren't fixed yet. If we could add a decent attacker to our player list it will be a more fun game to watch.

Bjqrn0: What do you think will be your toughest game in your group?
Reeseend: I think K1ck has the most experience advantage and they also recruited two former LKFF players: Sc00t and Deji. So I guess that will be our toughest game.

Bjqrn0: Considering that you have lost both Sc00T and Deji, do you think LKFF still will have a good chance to reach the playoffs or even win division 1?
Reeseend: As I already mentioned, we need a good attacker to form a decent team. If we can't manage to do so, I don't think we will reach the playoffs.

Bjqrn0: If you can predict the scores, how do you think the game is going to end?
Reeseend: That obviously depends on the maps we play.

Bjqrn0: So no predictions from LKFF then?
Reeseend: No, sorry.

Bjqrn0: Ok, fair enough. Thanks for your time and good luck in your game!
Reeseend: No problem, you're welcome.

Interview with viRus's Kazan on viRus-infsd

bjqrn0: What are your expectations about your match vs. who many would referr to as your arch rivals, infsd?
Kazan: Prolly a though game on C8, one more seren on c2, and a really intense C7 for the final. All depends on how Ich will def, or do whatever he is supposed to. There are players there that I respect.

bjqrn0: From what I understand viRus got banned from CB because of a contoversy involving infsd, or more so infsd|jaz, can you elaborate on this?
Kazan: Jaz was in our team for about 1-2 months, did a few matches with us. Than suddenly he wanted out, he just didn't attend to our channel without any reasons.
Then came infused, we played against them a few times, there was nothing special for me atleast. Then a few of my teammates accused geno7a of wallhacking. They tried to get demos from him, via jaz.
This didn't turn out to well, becouse jaz was like a motherlion in this topic. At this time I still didn't had anything to do with this thing.
Then came a cb match ( I don't know what kind it was, but it didn't really have any weight). We lost that match, it was demanded that all players make demos and screens of their games.
It was the last match C10, we were losing it, I've gotten 999 at a time of 15-16 minutes ingame, came back and autorecord didn't start. I had more important things to attend to, like forget about flag defing, and rush straight into enemybase. I think we made a cap, but still we lost that match.
Than I gave the demos to on of my teammates, and went out for the weekend. When I came back, I was quite surprised to hear that infused didn't send any demos, but got mine, and stated no less than I cheated in the very last 4-5 minutes of the last map, becouse i did not record.
They also said geno7a and someone else didn't record anything.
Jaz said this is for thinking someone is cheating in his precious team. He made a conflict, Astral the head admin (and some other admins i suppose) went throuh my demos, and clearly stated there was no cheating.
We never got banned from any CB leagu
After this i decided to have some fun with Jaz (aswell as the others from my team)
wich was quite childish from us, and got us banned from kuh3 league, in a way that we already had a yellow card in kuh3 for something i can't recall, and we got another one from dozer the admin of kuh3 for racism
Thats pretty much what happened, never been banned for anything related to cheating.
Jaz is still treatning us with alot of little childish thing, but frankly I couldn't care much less.
Quakelive is acking for witchhunts like these, after these things we are called cheaters by everyone, without any proof. Online streams, and alot of places, plus it's almost impossible to find practise games for ourselfs.
By a guy that admited that hes in quake for about a couple of months, its quite a laught, we been trough div3 div2 and now were in 1, I personally play quakelive since 08 august. Everyone can judge on his own.

bjqrn0: Did you guys in fact make any racistic statements against Jaz or was the situation misinterpreted?
Kazan: I can't recall anything verbal, only a few parody pictures. Especially in quakelive, i have never made rasist statements. Everyone can judge by himself. Dozer did the judgement, he said posting a picture on team infused's channel is clearly racist and we should be banned out of the universe.

bjqrn0: Well I hope dozers claims are wrong as I can't recall seeing those pictures for myself.
Kazan: There are rules which clearly state, where you can't say anything which is prohibited, these are online, while gaming, and on the kuh3 channels and site I think, this never accoured, but we still got the ban. I don't wanna point at anyone why this happened.

bjqrn0: Can you predict the result for your game?
Kazan: Nope, I certainly can't.

bjqrn0: Thank you for your time, and good luck in your game!

Interview with infused's Jaz on viRus-infsd

bjqrn0: What are your expectations about your match which many would referr to as your arch rivals, viRus?
infused|Jaz: I expect a hard match with viRus. Unlike unique who were definitely not division 1 skill, we know viRus are definitely a solid team. We've already beaten viRus in ClanBase before earlier this year in a 2-1 game (a decider was required) therefore we fully know what to expect when we play them. I would also like to say infused have no 'arch rivals' in QL. End of the day it's just a game.

bjqrn0: Is there any player in viRus that you are especially afraid of, or is it their team as a whole that's good?
infused|Jaz: In my honest opinion they are all good players. Three of them play for Hungary CTF alongside feeder where they all performed quite well. I wouldn't say we're afraid of any of their players, as they're all pretty good. If I did have to pick one player I would be concerned about the most from viRus, It would definitely be Smoggi. I think he's a great attacker and his performance will be key for them when they play us.

bjqrn0: How will the game end?
infused|Jaz: We go into all our games thinking we can win and with drago playing I think we could edge this one, but it will definitely be close as we've always had very close games with viRus. I would like to hope we can get another 2-0 win but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to a third map.

k1ck vs LKFF tonight at 22:00 CEST
By bjqrn0 on Tuesday 6th April 2010

Interview with k1ck's KM (Betija)

Bjqrn0: What do you expect from your game vs. LKFF?
KM: I plan for a straight forward win. But often what I plan and what takes place aren't always the same thing :). We've played LKFF before in k3l and had two convincing wins but they're now playing with a different lineup to before, so we will still be cautious about the game. We've said many times that when you underestimate a team, that's when you lose maps.

Bjqrn0: Considering LKFF has lost one of their players (Sc00t) to your team, do you feel there's any rivalry because of that?
KM: They actually lost two players to us: sc00t and deji. But I don't feel there's any rivalry, I used to play with Raiden in season 1 of BiBS and he's always been decent when we've talked. I can't speak for sc00t/deji though, but I've not heard any ill talk from them about LKFF.

Bjqrn0: Ok, how do you feel these two player aquisitions has affected k1ck, will it help you to get that edge needed to win division 1?
KM: I feel like we're stronger now than we were before. Sc00t is a really good attacker and is exactly what we needed to compliment either me/ani/zlc. In previous lineups we had a combination of me/ani/zlc attacking and all of us prefer to flag run rather than fight. This can be a problem if you're facing a TDM-heavy team and you feel a bit outaimed. But sc00t has a really good aim and attacking sense so he's been a great addition to the lineup. We've had abso attacking before but he doesn't like it so much and prefers to mid. With deji being an aim monster from estonia we've got some really great firepower to the lineup now. We've also done some tactic changes and improved our tactical game a lot, which I'm really happy about. Infact we've done a lot of tactical changes :)

Bjqrn0: In that regard, would you describe k1ck more as a TDM heavy team or more of a true CTF team?
KM: I'm not sure tbh. I thought we played a very aggressive style and didn't chase unless we had to. For example, chasing powerups or the RA attacker on Troubled Waters. But speaking to hazrd he says we're very defensive and chase a lot in mid. I feel like we're aggressive, but there's clearly a disconnect between how people think we play. We try to be aggressive. :)

Bjqrn0: What's the score gonna be?
KM: 2-0

Bjqrn0: Ok thank you for your time and I wish you the best of luck tonight!

Interview with LKFF's RiGHT

Lundiz: What are your expectations for the match tonight?
RiGHT: It will be extremely hard for us. We lost Sc00T and deji early this year to k1ck and since then we've been struggling to reform our team. So we didn't manage to do a lot of practice yet with our new guy du4l. If we don't get hammered, we'll be happy.

Lundiz: Do you feel like they have an advantage now that they have ScooT and deji?
RiGHT: Sc00T is one of the better attackers in QL at the moment. He knows our players very well and knows the strenghts and weaknesses, so yeah they have an advantage with him. We would have preferred to keep both of them :)

Lundiz: Have you been able to play pcws lately, do you consider yourself inactive atm?
RiGHT: We hardly played any games, only participated in Ku3liga earlier on. We are around for more than 10 years now ;) We're not inactive, just not extremely active. But with only 4 players at the moment, its hard to practice. Soon we hope to announce a 5th player though and then things will improve hopefully.

Lundiz: k1ck said they'd like to see themselves as an aggressive team, any comment on that and what about your playing style?
RiGHT: k1ck plays not very defensively at least and that's good. Too many teams try the all-def-lets-wait-for-pu's tactic. We will likely be a bit more defensive since we expect to not be able to win ;)

Lundiz: Finally, score prediction?
RiGHT: In my ClanBase admin days I was sorta good at making predictions. I gave up on that ;) We'll win 8-0 on both maps. Easy.

First div1 matches coming up!
By val1um on Monday 5th April 2010
Unique and Infused will play their matches. The game is scheduled to be played at Monday 5th of April 8 PM CEST (2 PM EDT). There will be a stream for this and lvl^ is going to hold it.

BiBS' head admin bjqrn0 got the opportunity to interview both teams' leaders about their game versus each other.

Interview with styl0r from Unique:

Bjqrn0: What are your expectations for your upcoming match against infsd?
unique`styl0r: I expect drama, sweat and tears. I'm not sure how many people are aware but we have played a couple of practices against infused over the last two weeks and there were many controversial and heated moments (mostly including myself and Jaz). Our latest practice ended in a win for us (two maps to zero) but there were massive complaints about one of the infused members lagging during the last two minutes of the second map which they declared gave us a win.

Bjqrn0: Can you go any closer into that as most of our players and viewers aren't probably aware of the situation?
unique`styl0r: During the first map I had complained I was being chased with the phrase "holy chase-a-moly" and then for the next 30 minutes of the war I was given abuse aswell as taunts about performances for UK CTF squad ;).

Bjqrn0: Do you feel unique, being a newly formed team, can be in shape to beat infsd in an actual BiBS game?

unique`styl0r: I think we have to be favourites for the match though definitely not in everybodys' mind. My greatest concern is Ischju who I play TDM with. He is really in form at the moment and causes us hell when we are tryng to attack. Geno7a (a.k.a B1ad3) is also regularly hitting a 70% rail at mid. We are not really as "new" as people think. I played with eXodus in Quake 3 and dobo along with lth. In UK CTF I played with dest.

Bjqrn0: Ok. What would you say is Ischju's main thing (aim, tactics e.t.c.)?
unique`styl0r: Ishju has a strong aim, really good tactics and he's a clever player. That makes him hard to outmatch.

Bjqrn0: If I can get a score prediction for the match, how would that look?
unique`styl0r: I think we will win our map but by a small margin. Infused have been playing ctf2 a lot which means at mid it's going to be myself against Geno7a. If I'm in form we will win that map. But taking into consideration their extremely defensive style of play, it will be a low scoring game.

Bjqrn0: Ok, thank you for the interview and good luck in your game styl0r!

Interview with Jaz from Infused:

Bjqrn0: What are your expectations for your upcoming match against uniQ?
infused|Jaz: I expect a tough match against unique. Hopefully we can play well and take the win. We're also looking forward to play LTH who's a good mate of ours so it should be a decent game :).

Bjqrn0: I've heard that there has been some drama between infsd and uniQ, can you comment anything on this?
infused|Jaz: We don't take any notice of drama that occurs in game. Like I said above, they've got some decent players like LTH, dest and ian and we fully respect that.

Bjqrn0: Do you feel infsd is in shape to beat uniQ?
infused|Jaz: Yeah, I'd say we're in shape to give them a good game. They definitely have an advantage over us as they've got players who have played Quake for about 20 years compared to us who have players with only five months experience.

Bjqrn0: So if you could predict the scores?
infused|Jaz: 2-0 win for us :).

Bjqrn0: Ok! Thanks for your time and good luck in your game!
infused|Jaz: Thanks :).

LLL (LowLandLions) will play against Deluxe at Wednesday this upcoming week. Stream and time is TBA.

Bjqrn0 also got the opportunity to interview Derfel from LLL and Kekkie from Deluxe.

Interview with Derfel from LLL:

Bjqrn0: What are your expectations for your upcoming match against [dlx]?
LLL`derfel: I think it could be the hardest group game we will have.

Bjqrn0: [dlx] is a pretty new team (at least with this lineup). Do you think they will have the teamplay evolved to such level at the moment they can give you guys a good match?
LLL`derfel: I hear they play a lot so probably will have nice teamplay while we are only just starting to play games together again, so they may be in a better form than us. I think most people would make us slight favourites though I would expect it to be quite close though. Also I think they have played a lot together before, for Finland? So they are not a new team maybe!

Bjqrn0: I've heard LLL is experimenting a bit with the positions you play. Is this something you would like to comment on?
LLL`derfel: We think it's good to be dynamic and dem0n get's a bit bored defending. While most players will have their ideal position and style, it's good to have all your players comfortable to a certain level in all positions I guess.

Bjqrn0: Has LLL practiced anything against [dlx]?
LLL`derfel: In 4v4 for example it can get pretty tdm and defensive and you need to sometimes use all four players offensively to make a break-through. I will check recent history :). I can't find any matches although I do seem to remember playing them, maybe it was with a merc team or a UK team!

Bjqrn0: If you could predict the future, what will the scores be for the match?
LLL`derfel: Should be quite close I guess, unless one team gets early caps and forces the other to play loosley and let some more go.

Bjqrn0: Ok! Thank you for your time Derfel and good luck in your game!

Interview with Kekkie from Deluxe:

Bjqrn0: What are your epectations for your upcoming match vs. LLL?
Kekkie: I think server search will be little pain in the ass (no DK servers yet), what comes to game, allthought we are underdogs. I expect a very tight game. If we are at our best we have a chance to win. But like I said, we are underdogs.

Bjqrn0: Have you been practicing alot especially considering you're a pretty new team?
Kekkie: No, only a few official NC games played and maybe 1-3 practices during two weeks.

Bjqrn0: So do you still think you will be in shape for the game?
Kekkie: Well, I dont think we are at our best but maybe someone could say we are in good shape. If not any hangover or a bad day, I think we can do it nicely.

Bjqrn0: If you can predict the result, how will the match end?
Kekkie: 2-1 to LLL. But in a good day, maybe 2-1 to us ;).

Bjqrn0: Ok! Thank you for your time and good luck in your game!

We would also like to inform you that some games have been delayed due to Easter holidays.
